Launching
Sunday
At 11 o'clock, the dhow was squeezed on the trolleys. To my utter amazement, they
did not collapse. Look (photo) at the old tyres, pumped so as not to show any
deformation.
Photo: over 7 ton dhow squeezed on the trolleys. The front trolley is supposed to steer.

Photo: Dhow leaves the yard. Right front wheel in the maize to round the tree

Photo: passing a farm and a church

Photo: taking a bridge
Photo: example of trench taken
Photo: into the forest. 30 men push and balance the dhow. Downhill they brake by pulling the
rope on the foreground.
When the dhow inclines port, they all support the port side. When it starts to
incline starboard, they run under the boat to the other side.
Photo: After 1 km of dirt road with trees and many deep trenches, the dhow reaches the launching site
Photo: Author in his nerves caused delay by losing the nut which he
needed to close and fix the depth meter sensor hole.
As a hoarder of everything that might one time be useful in a box "special
objects", he quickly improvised with a garden-hose connection nut, white caulking tape
and silicone kit. Closed!
Blood is from screw tops carpenters do not bother to file off.

Photo: freeing the trolleys, yard (departure of dhow) in yellow ellipse
Photo: Front trolley freed with jack on stone under water. Daniel, in red pants down at keel, operating it. After the trolley was removed, the ship fell off the jack to Daniel's side. He escaped.
Photo: cheering after the boat started to float.
Daniel had completely lost his heavy low loud voice and will keep squeaking
like a turkey for several days to come.
Now, both Gabriel and Daniel confess their own doubts and fears about the
operation. God has helped them, they are sure.
