Prime Minister Ruud Lubbers and the Tilburg University Board
Tilburg University, 1988: Prime Minister Ruud Lubbers (left on
both photo's) receives the volume celebrating the Universities 12th lustrum, Aftellen
tot 2000, W. Goddijn, J. Goedegebuure, K. Soudijn, H. Verdaasdonk (ed) Tilburg,
Tilburg University Press, with Hamminga B. "Arbeid en moraal in de spiegel van een
utopie" as its opening chapter, from the hands of University Board President Piet
Verheyen (photo left). The prime minister said he would certainly read it, but would
probably be too busy for that in the next weekend. The University Board President is
reported
to have replied that he advised him certainly to read the first chapter, for this could
yield him many a relaxed weekend later on. Thereupon the Prime Minister decided to have a
look (photo below).
